Jon Nastor makes money online with no tech skills [episode 3]
Meet Our Featured Guest on Express Success Radio
Our featured guest is Jon Nastor.
Jon is a proud dad and husband who creates, markets, and sells products online.
Since birth, he’s been unable to settle for how things should be, and instead, Jon aims to make things how he wants them to be.
His latest creation is called VelocityPage, a WordPress plugin that allows anyone to create beautiful landing pages in minutes — without having to write code.
He’s also the host of the hit podcast “Hack The Entrepreneur”.
After Jon successfully shifted from a traditional career to becoming an entrepreneur, he found himself completely frustrated with technology not doing what he needed it to do. One day he got so angry, he just slammed downed his computer and walked away, not able to build a simple landing page for his website.
Once he stopped wrangling with his technology problem, Jon realized that the fact that he didn’t have any technical skills was no reason to be limited in what he could accomplish. Through a powerful shift in perspective, Jon came to the conclusion that working collaboratively with people who DID understand how to accomplish the goal would free him from his personal limitations and make “the impossible” become possible.
Jon learned that it doesn’t pay to be selfish or hold in your ideas because you’re afraid of someone else taking them from you. Instead, share your ideas with those who have the power to help you turn them from a concept into a reality.
He suggests that you open yourself to the possibility that having a part of something (as in a company, profits or results) is far better than having ALL of NOTHING. If you find yourself stuck with ownership and control, you could be killing off an otherwise viable business.
The Action Steps
Focus on ONE thing you can do to avoid overwhelm. Put one foot in front of other and find support if you need help to get unstuck. Don’t waste valuable time by thinking you have to always know more.
- Decide what you want to do and choose something you’re passionate about
- Create a 1 year goal and break it down into 12 monthly milestones to make it achievable and to give yourself a deadline.
- Set your calendar up to remind you of your goal and actions steps at the same time each and every month
” The only people who don’t make mistakes are those who don’t do anything.” – Albert Einstein
Be willing to make mistakes so you can learn from the results you produce. The information you glean from what you call a “failure” is invaluable to your process and success. Go for it!
